Vera, the hostess, really goes the extra mile. The courtyard with its jacuzzi was lovely, and the place has two bedrooms, a living room, a kitchen, and one and a half bathrooms. It’s compact but not tiny, though it’s not a villa. The spot is quiet, only a four-minute stroll to the main square and up to four more minutes to the rim, where there are good cliff views. Parking is just around the corner if you can find a space.

The host Amalia was warm and helped us throughout our stay. She gave us an overview of the island, arranged appointments for Corona tests, and organized a ferry drop-off for €30 for four people. Our arrival day air conditioning wasn’t working, and though Amalia got us fans so we wouldn’t be uncomfortable, the spare parts didn’t arrive in time, so we had no air conditioning for the whole stay. Amalia had already bought a new air conditioner during our stay. The house was right by the bus station, less than a four-minute walk from Fira’s bus station, with a grocery store nearby and a hospital within walking distance for the Corona test. Oia and Perissa black sand beach were both around 20 minutes away by quad bike, and you can walk to Firostefani and Imerovigli. Breakfast isn’t included, but there’s a nearby cafe. It’s a well-equipped typical Cycladic house with nice interior design, two bathrooms, and all the utensils we needed. Welcome coffee and a bottle of wine were provided, and the hot tub was great for relaxing at night after walking around the island.

A snack and a carafe of wine were waiting for us when we arrived. We really liked the rental. It’s a small, well-kept house on a quiet street, close to the town center. Our host was friendly and shared some great recommendations.
