The location was the strongest part of our stay at Secrets Legends. It’s right in the middle of Oia near the blue domes, with lots of great restaurants nearby. Staff were friendly, especially Konstantina, and the porters definitely earned their tips carrying our luggage up and down the stairs. We’d originally booked Santorini Secrets & Spa, but were moved to Secrets Legends a few days before our trip because the first location was closing. The room was small but neat, and the hotel felt dated, with signs it needs an upgrade. Our bed sagged badly in the middle, so we built a wall of pillows each night to stop rolling inward. It wasn’t comfortable. The hot tub tiles were loose and uneven, and the shower paint was peeling. We’d been promised spa services, but with the spa location closed, the only option was treatment in our room. It was fine, but after housekeeping had been by, the salt scrub and mud wrap left the floor messy. Breakfast had to be ordered ahead; there was no other dining on site or room service. We’d just come from a true five-star hotel in Mykonos, so the lack of finesse and luxury here was disappointing. If location is your priority, it’s hard to go wrong, but rooms are on the small side and other rooms, as well as the public walkway above, can see the private hot tubs. Pleasant enough, but not five-star luxury.

The staff were the best, and the price felt right. You get views of the blue domes, a private mini jacuzzi outside, and access to heated shared pools. The lighting is modern, and there are TV options like Netflix. For a memorable stay in Greece, Secret Legend Suites is a great pick.

My mom had an accident two days before check-in. We tried contacting them to ask for a refund, even with a medical certificate, but they refused because of their policy. Other companies have made an exception for health-related cases. When I arrived hoping to find a solution, the place was under renovation, which we hadn’t been told about. They said we could use another room for a few hours, then move again. As I told them, enjoy the money!

The room was clean and beautiful, and the hotel itself and its location were great. My experience was good overall, but the service needs work. Shampoo wasn’t replenished, there wasn’t anyone at reception at all hours, and they charged extra for basics like milk or teabags. We were paying $400 a night, so those charges felt unreasonable. What really upset me was that when my spouse checked out, a staff member asked for a tip and made a face when she declined. I’ve never been verbally asked to tip at checkout before. After I posted, the hotel’s response disputed what I’d said. To be clear, we weren’t given tea for free, there was nobody at reception, the staff member did make a face when we refused the tip, and shampoo should have been refilled without us needing to ask, especially at a five-star hotel. The response made it seem to me that management would rather dispute the facts than admit a mistake. I won’t stay again.

Konstantinas was so helpful and friendly. Our room was amazing, with a stunning caldera view. It’s a beautiful place to get away from the crowds.
