Blue Life hotel

We had a really enjoyable time on this incredibly beautiful island, and the staff made a big difference. They were lovely and accommodating, sorting out any request promptly and efficiently. The room was a comfortable size, and the pool was clean and tidy, a welcome spot in the very hot weather. Perivilos beaches and bars were convenient to reach, but the main road nearby was noisy. WiFi barely worked inside our apartment, though it was better on the balcony. Hot water wasn’t always there when we needed it most, in the morning. The bathroom shower was cramped, water kept escaping the tray, and the curtain rail kept falling down. Still, it was good value, and the staff’s care and effort really helped.

The pool was very clean and well looked after, and the staff were friendly and efficient. The accommodation itself felt more like bad student housing. The fridge was old and ugly, though it did work. The IKEA beds were okay, but placed so the bedroom door wouldn’t shut, and the odd clothes hanger is annoying if you’re taller than 4ft. The kitchen smelled of mold and barely had any cups or plates. What we found was old and dirty, so we gave up on the self-catering plan and ate out instead. The toilet wouldn’t flush waste, so you have to use a plastic cooking bowl full of water. The shower head needs replacing because it sprays water across the room. For us, this was disappointing, like a two-star hotel at most worth a third to half of what we paid.

After a hot day of sightseeing, the pool and loungers were a welcome place to unwind. There are umbrellas for shade, and the pool is a decent size. The rooms are clean and comfortable, each with a small attached bathroom and a verandah to sit on. It’s a good budget hotel near Perivolos/Perissa beach. The road is close by, so it isn’t always peaceful.

Pauli made our stay feel special, with his pleasant staff helping too. He even arranged a chauffeur transfer for our midnight arrival, which we really appreciated. The hotel has its own style, with each room decorated differently and thoughtful touches around the place. It was very clean, towels were changed daily, breakfast was a nice continental spread, and we got loads of useful information. There are no TVs in the rooms, which helped keep things quiet. The pool was decent as well. The main road is right beside the hotel, so you do hear traffic, though it fades into the background. We’d happily go back tomorrow.
