Hotel Nakbé Atitlán

Get the all American breakfast, and definitely try the great coffee. I'd skip the juice. If you need drinks, there's a store across the street, visible from the lobby window.

The breakfast was good, and the rooms were clean. My third-floor room had very poor WiFi and no hot water. There was a lot of noise, even late at night, and the place isn't well insulated.

The price and conditions might earn this place four stars, depending on what you're expecting, but a few things brought it down for me. It has a great location, free breakfast, working WiFi, hot water, and was generally clean. The room also had a fan and TV, and the price was fairly cheap. On the other hand, the bed wasn't very comfortable, and the walls and doors were paper thin. I also found a couple of cockroaches, very small ones, in the bathroom around the sink.

It's only a couple of minutes on foot to the lake viewpoint, and there are plenty of great cafes nearby. The rooms aren't very modern, but everything worked well. I didn't eat at the hotel, though my travelling companions enjoyed their breakfast there.
