The room was a little snug, but it had pretty much everything I could ask for: a good-sized bed, cable, WiFi, and a private bathroom with a fairly hot shower. There was even a small nook with a desk for studying, reading, or eating. The couple running the place were very friendly.

A beautiful place, just a short and easy walk from the main square. The owners really went out of their way to make me feel welcome. I can recommend it 100%.

The hosts, Edgar and Odi, were so nice, friendly, and helpful during our five nights at Casolia. When we were heading out or taking a break, there was fruit, cookies, and coffee. Our room had a good bed, cable, WiFi, a private bathroom with a hot shower, and even coat racks. Casolia itself is beautiful, clean, and quiet, about a 10-minute walk from the main square. We really liked this family-run hotel.

Edgar and Odi are the kindest, friendliest hosts you could ask for. Casolia is beautiful, clean, and quiet, and the main square is only a 10-minute walk away. I loved my three nights there. Highly recommend it if you're visiting Xela.

The location is close to the center but still quiet, and I felt safe going out alone in the evenings. I had a wonderful week in Xela. The hosts welcomed me so warmly that it felt like being at home, and I felt part of the family. They offered tea or coffee and a piece of cake every day when I got back from language school. The room was perfectly adequate, and the hotel always had hot water for showers. You have to turn it on just a little, as is often the case in Guatemala, or it gets even colder. Xela is generally cold, and the room gets very cold at night too, but there are several blankets, so sleeping wasn't a problem. I also brought my hot water bottle and kettle, which I'd recommend for Europeans used to central heating. I paid about €130 for the week. Breakfast was an extra 40 sq m, and it was delicious and made to order. I'd definitely come back!
