Harmon Loop Hotel

I had a great stay here while taking the NPTE in Guam. The hotel is close to the Prometric testing center, and Micronesia Mall and plenty of places to eat are nearby. The room was very clean, the WiFi was fast, and the staff were kind and accommodating. Hope you have a good stay here too.

The free WiFi was the best part for me. It was VERY dependable, with speeds of about 2 MB per second. There’s also a lobby microwave and a dispenser for hot and cold water. The rooms are quite modest, and the hallway lighting is so dim it feels a little mysterious. Prices and location were decent. The owner is stern, but once we understood what was expected, we were able to reach a mutual understanding and she was willing to work through the issues.

The place felt neglected, and both the motel and the staff who welcomed us came across as sloppy and unwelcoming. I wouldn’t bother taking photos of what needs fixing. They should focus on improving the property and how they accommodate customers.

The service from the old Korean lady who owns the place and the old Korean man, who I’m not sure was her friend, husband, or an employee, was very rude. They scolded visitors, including small children, and complained about there being too many guests even during visiting hours. I didn’t appreciate the man yelling from the front desk at my relative because she was standing in front of the lobby’s sliding door and it kept opening. When I said I didn’t like him yelling at her, he got angry, yelled back, cursed, and pointed right at my eyes with his face very close to mine. You also have to hand in your room key each time you leave, and room cleaning is only available on request. We were charged an extra $10 a day for our newborn, but the hotel didn’t provide a crib. The owner said they didn’t have one. We also had to pay $5 per person each way for airport trips, including for the baby. She said the guest laundry machine wasn’t working, which I believe was a lie. Rates felt expensive, and I felt cheated. Other hotels offer better service and surroundings for the same price or less. We were first given one of their poorer rooms. The main door had no double lock, the bathroom door didn’t lock, and the bed wasn’t decent compared with similar rooms. After three days of asking to move, we got a room with a better bed, but the lock problems were still there. I felt management discriminated based on age, color, and nationality. I strongly don’t recommend Harmon Loop Hotel/Inn to friends, family, or anyone else.
