Novotel Hong Kong Citygate

The mountain and ocean views were lovely, and our room had plenty of space, water, and toiletries. We could walk straight into Citygate Outlet mall, with the MTR and bus station connected there too. Staying with family was easy, especially with the free airport shuttle in both directions. Check-in was quick, and the staff kindly let us in early and provided an extra bed at no charge when the only room available then had a queen bed.

The room was modern, clean, and comfortable, and the blackout curtains helped me get a couple of hours of sleep before dinner. I was on the 20th floor and had a pretty decent view. The hotel connects directly to the shopping mall, where I ate, then I took a short walk around the very urban local area. The airport trip was simple: I caught the shuttle at terminal 2 just as it was about to leave. It runs about every 20 minutes, though finding the stop from terminal 1 may take asking around. Look for door 9 for the Citygate shuttle. The ride took about 10 minutes and was comfortable. Staff at the desk were polite and informative, and check-in was easy. I took the shuttle again the next morning. Very convenient and comfortable overall.

There’s a designer outlet style shopping mall attached to the hotel, which was handy. The arrival staff were helpful, and my room was clean and tidy. The bed was the most comfortable one I’ve slept in for a long time. I was only there overnight, so I didn’t get to try any food at the hotel.

This was my second stay at Novotel, and the staff were kind and helpful again. The room was spacious and comfortable, and the location inside Citygate Outlets made things easy, with the MTR connection and airport shuttle as added conveniences. I do wish there were a bidet in the toilet, as not having one was a bit of a hassle. More breakfast choices would also be welcome.
