The location is the only reason for the two stars: it's near the waterfront and an 8-10 minute walk from the MTR. My second room wasn't as bad as the first, but after that first stay I have serious doubts about the hotel's hygiene overall. I've travelled in many countries for over 40 years, and can't imagine this happening at a hotel in Hong Kong. I agree with other reviewers that even two stars is generous. I stayed October 25-26 for two nights, then October 30-November 3 for four nights. The bathroom in the first room was so unhygienic that my own home would not meet that standard. Look at the photos. Even changing a shower hose can't cost much. It made me think the cleaning team had not cared for a long time, and neither had management. There was also a problem with my reservation, which my niece had made through Trip.com. At check-in the staff said it was under another name and wouldn't give me a room until they checked. I had dinner plans, but was asked for a HK$500 deposit even though I showed the online booking receipt. The front desk staff seemed like teenagers or perhaps recent graduates, and their porter-like uniforms didn't make me feel welcome. The room itself was very basic, with just a kettle and tea bags. No coffee machine, ice bucket, or bottled water. The bed wasn't soft or springy. There were toothbrushes and toothpaste in the bathroom, but after seeing its condition I didn't dare use them.

The harbour views were lovely, and breakfast was pleasant and satisfying. The price was reasonable too. But management should know how much sound carries between rooms. You can hear neighbours above, below, and on either side showering and using the bathroom very clearly. The soundproofing barely helps, and it's not good.

The breakfast was embarrassing, and the beds were so uncomfortable that I'd have slept on the floor if it hadn't been disgustingly dirty. The place was tiny and filthy, with black mold everywhere and a toilet that hadn't been cleaned properly. For the price, it felt like the biggest rip-off I've ever had. Staff were rude and made check-in awful. The dirt seems so ingrained that they should probably knock it down and start over. This place shouldn't be allowed to operate. Hotels in HK are expensive, but they can be worth the money. This one wasn't.

The facilities felt dated, and the soundproofing needs work. We were near the lift and could hear it running constantly. Tour groups also made the hallway noisy. It's a bit of a walk to the nearest MTR and bus stops. Staff were polite, though the service felt passive rather than proactive. It was an average stay for a short visit, but not what we expected from a 4-star hotel.

The MTR is nearby, so the location was okay. Still, this felt like a 2-star hotel at best, with no amenities that seemed worthy of four stars. You can get a much better stay at another nearby hotel for the same price. The bed was awful, with springs poking into my back, and everything in the room looked old and dated. The walls were so thin I could hear every word from the neighbouring rooms. Staff at check-in were rude too.
