Getting around Hong Kong was easy from here, with the airport bus stopping directly at the hotel. It was the cheapest and most convenient airport option for me since I didn’t need to transfer, and ding-ding, MTR and buses made it simple to reach almost anywhere. There’s plenty of food within walking distance, too. The staff were courteous everywhere, from reception and room service to security. People were happy to help with directions and other things. The hotel was comfortable, with a reasonable-sized room and good facilities. My only complaint was the pillows: even two stacked together felt too thin and soft.

The breakfast buffet at Cafe A didn’t work well for me because there weren’t enough healthy vegetarian choices. The area is quieter than Central, Causeway Bay or Tsim Sha Tsui, though an East Wing escalator leads to a clean, wide, well-lit footbridge that ends near Fortress Hill MTR. There’s a Wellcome supermarket nearby for bottled water and toiletries. I came back to this Harbour Plaza Group hotel for four nights, from 10th - 13th December, '25, after another four-night stay in May '25. My Clover side-seaview room on the 33rd floor of the West Wing was fairly spacious by Hong Kong standards, and suited me well for R & R. The restroom and shower cubicle were a good size, and housekeeping did a thorough job. The forecourt felt peaceful despite the busy city around it. Inside, the Victorian era inspired lobby, reception and passages were tastefully done, with plenty of natural light and a mood-lifting atmosphere. Mr. Alex and Mr. Adrian (Trainee) at Reception and Mr. Raymond, Concierge, were pleasant and efficient. Check-in and check-out both went smoothly. I’ll consider staying here again on future trips to Hong Kong.

I won’t book this hotel again. In September 2025, my room was canceled on the day I arrived in Hong Kong, even though I’d booked through trip.com and could still see rooms available for those dates. I believe the hotel canceled because my trip.com promotional rate was lower, and it moved me to a nearby hotel that was only 3 stars. Two days ago, the hotel canceled another trip.com reservation, this time three days before I was due to leave. I’d bought my flight and hotel because the rate was lower, and again the room still appeared available for the dates on trip.com. This time I wasn’t relocated, only reimbursed. It’s disappointing to see a 4 star hotel use trip.com publicity but not honor its package price.

The staff were helpful even before I arrived, answering my questions politely by phone. Everyone I spoke with could communicate in English, which I appreciated. There were plenty of staff around, and they were polite and useful with check-in, directions, doors and getting cabs. The hotel felt safe, clean and well maintained, and I’d stay here again. I chose it for the spot by the harbour, which is relatively quiet but still handy for shops, the MTR and major bus routes. The A11 stops right outside, and an overpass crosses to Kings Road. In the evening there’s a nice ocean breeze when it gets too hot. Finding the lobby on foot can be tricky the first time, but staff outside can point you the right way. The room was a good size for Hong Kong. They clean twice a week, though the vacuum cleaner was left for several days at the end of the hall right outside my door. It looked bad and seemed unhygienic because it was very dusty. I could also see that management had put a lot of care into the Christmas decorations.

Tiffany made us feel welcome before we even arrived. I’d called many hotels before booking, and she gave the best service of all of them, patiently explaining everything and finding the right connecting room for my family. She deserves a promotion. Cat in the East Wing was also especially helpful and capable, and represented the housekeeping team’s leadership well. All the staff were friendly, and every part of our stay exceeded expectations. We enjoyed the hotel atmosphere and the vibe of the area, which felt safe. The location was very convenient, just steps from MTR, bus and tram stations. Big thanks to everyone, especially Tiffany and Cat, for making the stay memorable. Hotel Alexandra was outstanding for me and my family, and I highly recommend it.
