The terrace at Apartments Rose is the part I'll never forget. Wine-tree branches shade it, and the view of Dubrovnik feels like a dream. I can't imagine a more beautiful, romantic spot. It's where I asked my girlfriend to marry me. The apartment made those special days easy and comfortable: a great bed, beautifully furnished rooms, air conditioning, and a fully equipped kitchen. It's quiet up the hill, but still only a 10 minute walk to the old town and main beaches. Gloria was a wonderful host, so kind and helpful with anything we needed. The day after I proposed to my fiancée, she surprised us with a cake, presents, and a postcard with lovely words. I'm so glad we chose this place for our stay.

Gloria made us feel at home as soon as we arrived, even making iced tea for us. She shared lots of tips, including what to see and which restaurants to try or avoid. The service was amazing, and we really appreciated the privacy. The room was cozy and comfortable, and the beds were probably the best I've slept on abroad. There's a shared kitchen at the end of the building, used by our room at the end and the neighbors in the middle. The air conditioning was a lifesaver and easy to use. We also had our own terrace with an amazing view of the old town and Lokrum, pronounced Lockrum. After a long travel day, I really didn't want to climb about 50 steps to the apartment. But if you're visiting dubrovnik, be warned, that's just normal here, with steps everywhere.

I stayed here on a Dubrovnik trip two years ago. Getting to the airport bus was easy from this spot. There’s a bit of a climb, as you’d expect on Dubrovnik’s hillsides, but the Airbnb was good value.
