ORA Luxury Rooms

Luka made us feel welcome straight away and was really helpful throughout our stay. You can see how much the family cares about the place and the work they put into it. Aura Luxury Rooms is handy for the port, right across from it, and only about a 9-minute drive from the busy center. We had a great time and would absolutely recommend it. Thanks again, Luka!

The room was very clean and had Wi-Fi, a TV, a safe, hairdryer, closet and first-aid kit. Lighting was good at night and through the windows during the day, and the air conditioning worked very well. Room 101 was a functional 20 square meters, with a desk, three chairs and a minibar that stayed around 15 degrees Celsius. Two windows looked out to sea, with cruise ships less than 200 meters away. The cruise port and bus station are a one-minute walk, and although the main street is only four meters from the building, the soundproofing was excellent. There was also a window facing the outside steps to check-in and a small one in the toilet. A kettle came with two coffee sachets and proper glass cups. The mattress was too soft and needs replacing. This is really a house converted into four rooms, rather than what I'd call a hotel, and I don't think it merits four stars. The bathroom is narrow and small but works fine, with a walk-in shower and a separate showerhead. I didn't like the two soap envelopes with their small bars, which isn't what I expect from a four-star place. Getting to check-in means carrying your luggage up 15 steps. My room was on the first floor; the second floor has another narrow staircase. The son or father who runs the family business can help with bags. Once all four rooms have checked in, there's no staff on site at any time, and you need to text if something comes up, so it feels more like an Airbnb. There's an evacuation plan by the door, but I couldn't tell whether there was a security alarm, and there are no automatic fire sprinklers. The old town and fortress are a 60-minute walk away, though there's a bus right by the property. I paid 347 euros for two nights, booked through booking.com. There's no breakfast or restaurant on site, which again isn't what I'd expect from a four-star hotel. I recommend it, but I found the price high for the room and the old town far away. It's very close to the cruise port and bus station. My overall rating is 9/10. I'm a tourist from Quebec, Canada, who travels around the world, and I stayed for two nights, September 8th and 9th.

The owner lives nearby and is friendly, present, and hands-on with the rooms. They're modernly furnished and well appointed. Dubrovnik's cruise port and long-distance bus station are just one street away. Studenac market is in the block, and there are two local restaurants on either side of the stairs leading up to ORA Luxury Rooms.

Getting into Old Town was easy on the 1A or 1B bus, and the larger bus terminal and ferry port are right across the street. We stayed in a spotless, attractive room, with a comfortable bed, strong shower pressure and plenty of hot water. The AC worked very well, even for us cold-seeking Americans. The hosts were warm, pleasant and quick to respond. We had a great stay and would come back on another visit.
