Opera Garden Hotel & Apartments

I don't usually leave reviews, but the water problems really affected our stay. We spent four nights in the building across from the main one. It was clean, the TV worked, and the kitchen was fully usable, but on three occasions there was no hot water in either the shower or the sinks. I assumed the late-night outages might be understandable, since I often got back late after the ruins, but on our last morning the shower was ice cold, not even lukewarm. I mentioned it at checkout and was told the tourist tax would be covered as an apology. That seemed like a decent compromise at first, though after thinking about the cost of four nights, I don't feel it was enough. I had to travel home without showering that morning or the night before. The location was good, about a 15-minute walk from most places, and Bolt taxis were reasonably priced for going farther. If you sleep in after one too many in the ruins, there are plenty of nearby bakeries and cafes with reasonable prices. Staff were very polite, and the food was pretty decent for the hotel price. Breakfast was buffet style, with eggs, bacon, pastries, and more. The coffee machine took a few tries, but worked eventually. Without the water issue, I'd have given it five stars. If showers are part of what guests pay for, they should be available regardless of the building's age or infrastructure. The hotel should mention this in its description so people can plan ahead.

The staff made our stay at Opera Garden Hotel & Apartments especially memorable. They were welcoming, kind, and attentive, and nothing felt like too much trouble. Breakfast was superb, with homemade yogurt and little pastries, and the homemade mulled wine was the best I've ever had. We also enjoyed relaxing on the rooftop terrace in hot weather, and the two saunas, with gowns and slippers provided, were a treat. It's right in the heart of Budapest, just steps from the Opera House and Andrássy Avenue. Our room was spacious, immaculate, elegant, and very comfortable. I loved the stay and will definitely come back. A big thank you to everyone at Opera Garden H&A!

For my first solo city break, I couldn't have asked for a nicer stay. Thanks to everyone at opera gardens. The rooms were comfortable, with a fridge, hob, microwave, and kettle, plus a lovely bathroom and a powerful shower. Breakfast set me up well for a day out. The location is perfect for getting around the city, whether walking everywhere like I did or using the nearby metro links. Budapest is truly stunning 🤩

The location is superb, right in the heart of town and handy for bars, cafes, and public transport. It's a really cost-effective hotel, with spacious, clean, quiet rooms and a well-equipped studio. It was perhaps too warm, though. We had to turn the heating off completely and open a window even with snow outside. Breakfast was a buffet with a reasonable selection. We've had better, but at this price we can't complain. The coffee machines were the main downside, a bit awkward to use when trying to get a decent large coffee.
