The neighborhood was really convenient and pleasant, but the rooms were super tiny, with bunk beds, and the walls were so thin we could hear people snoring two rooms away. Booking online cost 40% more than just going in. You can find better hotels in better areas.

We were four people staying for two nights. The rooms were warm and clean, and the bathroom had enough equipment for us to use it comfortably. The hotel director was very helpful, and the place was good value for money.

The management were kind and quick to respond. Our room was small, but had everything needed for a short visit. It was clean and warm, and close to public transport and many major sights in the city centre.

We had a lovely stay at Budapest Opera Guesthouse when we arrived at 22:00 on 18th July 2017. I was impressed by what even a cheaper hotel option can offer in Hungary, and the staff were kind and efficient. Thank you for a nice experience during my time in Budapest. I couldn’t enjoy the hotel or chat with local people as much as I’d have liked. My mother had planned the trip for sightseeing rather than spending time at the hotel or talking with staff, so I didn’t get to fully enjoy the place. That’s why I didn’t give it five stars.

We left right away and didn’t come back. There was no refund under any circumstances. The room seemed like somewhere you could manage for only a few hours, and I’d be wary of booking a room here. Better options are around, perhaps for a little more money. Apartments and rooms seem to be very different. We had a room, and reception wasn’t open from 10 as described. We had to wait until 12:30. It was dirty, as if nobody had cleaned before we arrived. I’ve seen rooms like that, maybe in Mongolia or Morocco. There were greasy marks on the wall opposite the bed, and the bathroom smelled like an old dog. Cleaning wouldn’t fix that. The room was tiny, with only a table and small fridge besides the bed, and the fridge wasn’t working. The view was of the inner windows of another building. There were also some “buddies” by the entrance who didn’t look friendly.
