ZIA Hotel Kuta

We spent four nights here with breakfast, and the central Kuta location and swimming pool were the only real positives for us. The rest of the stay was very disappointing, and the low price doesn't make up for the hygiene and comfort problems. I wouldn't recommend it to anyone expecting clean, normal conditions. We didn't get the room we'd booked, and the one we were given smelled strongly and unpleasantly. The faucet handle was moldy, water leaked into the bathroom during showers, and the sheets, pillows, and towels were stained and looked dirty. Breakfast had very few options for European guests, with mostly Asian hot dishes and hardly any sweet choices. They often cleared away the sweet food before breakfast hours had ended, so there was little left to choose from. The old air conditioner was noisy, and we could hear what seemed to be an animal moving inside it, along with constant sounds from within the walls. The refrigerator didn't work either. One of the two elevators was out of order, leaving everyone to wait for the other.

I was happy with the lighting as a Muslim, since it signified a propitious time. The place felt clean, comfortable, and peaceful, and I had a pleasant stay. I first got a small room, then the hotel upgraded me to a bigger one for free. Just make sure the refrigerator and elevator are working properly. 👍

The staff are why I keep returning to Zia Hotel. Everyone, from the front desk and F&B to housekeeping and the entrance security, is warm and welcoming, always smiling and helpful. I hope the hotel gets renovated someday. I wouldn't mind paying more if that hospitality stays the same. There's also a funny, friendly chubby dog that sometimes hangs around the parking area. This was my second visit. I stayed one night in 2025, and this time I came with a friend for a whole week. The room was decent for a budget hotel, with working AC and a hot shower, and ours faced the pool. There was a small shrine in view too, which made it feel peaceful. The location is convenient, about a five-minute walk to Kuta Beach and close to Sixty Nine Laundry, where we always go. It's very clean there, and our clothes come back smelling fresh. The rooftop has a gym and pool. The pool was fine, but most of the gym equipment was broken and needs replacing. Breakfast was so-so and could have more variety. I tried a Margherita pizza from room service once. It was okay, though nothing special, and the food in general was pretty average.

We had a wonderful stay at ZIA Hotel Kuta. It was clean and comfortable, and the staff were friendly and helpful. Thanks especially to Saka for being kind, behaving so well, and sharing useful information during our visit. We also enjoyed a very relaxing spa massage. We were very happy with the experience and would recommend it. 👍👍
