Gora Beach Inn

The room was nice, with a comfortable bed. The pool is large and the water feels warm.

The garden is lush and lovely, with a huge pool, and the hotel was clean with great service. It’s quiet inside, even though there are lots of little shops outside, and it’s close to the beach and mall. I only noticed a small hole in the bathroom ceiling that sometimes let a few drops through. I’d definitely recommend staying here.

The location worked perfectly for nightlife, yet Gora Beach Inn was surprisingly peaceful inside, with no noise from the busy streets. Our room was basic but clean, with a working TV, strong AC, and a functional bathroom. It was right by the pool, and the small terrace was a nice place to relax during the day. The drying rack was useful too. They didn’t do housekeeping, but I liked being left alone and I’m sure they’d have done it if I’d asked. For the price and location, I thought it was great, even though there’s room to improve. The bathroom could use shelves for toiletries, and the pool gets quite warm in the daytime. Only a bendy toothbrush and mini toothpaste are supplied, so bring your own toiletries. Don’t leave food in the room or the ants will show up. The pool is cooler in the morning. Warung Indonesia is a one-minute walk along Jalan Poppies II, and the food is cheap and delicious.

We enjoyed our first stay so much that we returned a week later with friends. The garden and pool are beautiful, and the maintenance crew is there every day keeping everything immaculate. Gora was better than we expected for the price. It’s a great spot, with a short walk to the beach through the market stalls and less than a block from the main Kuta street. Somehow, we couldn’t hear any music once inside. Our only complaint was the bedding: we got a sheet or blanket, but no comfortable duvet. Still, it exceeded our expectations for what we paid.
