Kuta Lodge Homestay

We spent 4 nights in a deluxe double room and had no problems at all. Breakfast was included and nice, and the owner was a very friendly guy who kept checking that we were doing well. We’d definitely come back.

The room was clean when we arrived, but during our five-day stay it was never cleaned again. The facilities were very basic: damp patches on the ceiling, barely any water from the shower, and on more than one occasion no water at all. The sink was disgusting with limescale, as was the shower head. The bed was very uncomfortable, with only a thin sheet and a blanket that didn’t even cover the whole bed. There was no proper bedsheet or duvet. Construction was happening right by our wall as more bungalows were being built. The noise woke us from 8:00 a.m., and the workers made my wife uncomfortable by staring at her when she passed the window. When we asked the owners if they could find a solution, they refused. Instead they threatened and intimidated us, insisting we pay the full amount in cash even though we’d chosen to pay by card. We were forced to pay in cash. I don’t recommend this accommodation at all. For the same price, you can find similar hotels and avoid the bad experience we had. Be very careful if you’re considering it. There are definitely much better options for the same price.

We usually aren’t the biggest fans of Lombok, but we loved staying here. The family running it is lovely and super friendly, and the place is well taken care of. The breakfast was nice, too. Probably the best you can get in this price range. Great value.

Best place we’ve stayed. Such a good price, amazing staff, and a clean, quiet location. They even had a lil kitten.
