Mamaka Bali Hotel

We spent two weeks in a Swagger Suite with breakfast, and I’d recommend it. The room was roomy enough to relax in the air conditioning, and the surf break views were great when we wanted to stay in and unwind. Not every hotel on this strip has rooms facing the ocean, so that was a real plus. Breakfast was delicious and came from a full menu with inclusions, rather than the usual buffet. There are two places to eat, both with high-quality food, and the hotel also has a rooftop pool overlooking the surf, a fully equipped gym, sauna, and ice bath. The staff were consistently attentive, communicative, and wonderfully warm, very much in keeping with their fun motto. The central location makes it easy to walk south into Kuta or north toward Legian and Seminyak. The road-facing rooms can be noisy, which seems part of being central and beachfront.

My wife and I stayed a couple of days and were glad we found this place. It’s right on the beachfront, and the decor felt cool, sophisticated, and relaxing. We had excellent massages at the spa, and my wife got her nails done. The food was high quality and reasonably priced. The rooftop bar was a gem for sitting back as the sun went down.

The staff were consistently lovely, friendly, and attentive, and the location was great. We had a ground-floor terrace room, which was handy when the lifts were slow, and it had everything we needed for sharing as friends rather than as a couple. Breakfast was included but didn’t have a huge selection. The smashed avocado and mie goreng were good, and we also enjoyed the satay sticks. Most of the spa treatments were great. One person in our group had a problem with the keratin treatment, but the massages and hair spa were lovely. A good hotel for the price range, and I’d happily stay again.

My daughter was delighted to find welcome amenities waiting in our Swagger Suite, a thoughtful touch. The room was large and had a great view over Kuta Beach. We also had an airport pickup arranged through the hotel, which was very convenient on my first night in Bali. Breakfast at the rooftop Kuta Social Club was fresh and tasty, with great service and a fantastic view. The facilities were great too, including a gym, ice bath, sauna, spa, and classes included with the stay. I had a fantastic time at Mamaka and will definitely be back.
