Palm Garden Kuta Hotel

Really good and well priced, with a beautiful pool and quiet rooms. It’s close to the shopping centre, Circle K, restaurants, bars, markets, and other major things. I felt quite safe, despite what other reviews say, and nothing bad or suspicious happened. There aren’t many staff working here, though, and regular room cleaning wasn’t happening. I’d still 100% stay again.

Money was stolen from my locked locker during my stay. When I reported it, staff laughed, dismissed my concerns, and refused to let me see CCTV that might have identified who took it. Several staff members said everyone “was sick” and unavailable to help. They questioned how much was stolen and mocked me in their own language. They kept telling me the lockers “are not safe” and that I should have kept my money with me, as if that excuses theft on the hotel’s premises while they’re responsible for the place. Staff shifted blame and delayed reporting it to the police, making it very hard to follow the proper procedure. Their response was negligent and unprofessional, and they did nothing to help. It makes me think staff may have taken it, especially since other reviews say similar things and mention staff watching when guests leave. The hotel can’t guarantee the safety of your belongings, and the staff were untrained, dishonest, and dismissive in how they handled this. I strongly advise people to stay away. Your money and valuables may not be safe here, and staff may do nothing to protect you.

The family room worked well for our two-night, three-day stay with my elderly parents, and I felt we got good value for the money. A few things could make it more comfortable: our Agoda booking included breakfast, but the hotel said it wasn’t in their plan, which was inconvenient for my parents in the mornings. A kettle, tea, coffee, and glasses in the room would also be useful, as would mosquito repellent. I’m from Australia and ended up with red rashes from bites all over my body. Even with those issues, I’d recommend it to families wanting a pleasant, homely, budget-friendly stay. They’re adding rooms and the property is often fully booked, so reserve ahead.

I couldn’t relax or sleep in this cramped room. Mosquitoes were everywhere, there was hardly any space, and the smell throughout the place made it difficult to breathe. The sheets were filthy and damaged, and there wasn’t even drinking water, unlike the other Bali rooms I stayed in. I couldn’t find a plug near the bed or table, and the WiFi was the worst I’ve experienced. It was an uncomfortable, depressing nightmare. Don’t waste your money here, it could ruin your trip.
