Villa Besok

The staff were the only part of our stay that left me satisfied. The villa itself was inconvenient to reach, tucked at the end of a narrow lane where a Toyota HiAce could not get in. We had to walk 200 meters to get out, and after 8 PM there were no streetlights, so the whole area was dark. The ground-floor rooms beside the pool were passable, with enough space and amenities, but the rest of the accommodation was disappointing. The rooms were generally cramped and dim. Upstairs, the shower had no curtain and there was no light above the bathtub, so it was hard to see at night. With no curtain to block the wind, showering after 6 PM was very cold. Water from the bathroom sink barely trickled out. We had two extra guests and I paid IDR 3,500,000 (approximately AUD 300) right away for two extra beds for three nights. What they gave us was unacceptable and felt disrespectful, especially since a nearby 4-star hotel costs half as much. The small room by the entrance had no windows, felt claustrophobic, and offered nowhere to put toiletries. It seemed fit only as a servant’s room. I wish they had sent photos of the extra-bed arrangement before taking payment. We saw it only after paying. The facilities are severely deteriorated, and the location makes the villa inconvenient.
