The open layout made it easy to relax, and I loved having a floating breakfast. A friend recommended this place, and it gave me some of my best holiday memories. The staff were friendly, attentive and lovely, always checking that we were comfortable. There were some bugs, but we understood the concept, and they provided bug spray. We’ll be back very soon!

The villa has a lovely layout, or at least it did when it was built, but poor upkeep and cleanliness have made the stay miserable. We had cockroaches on the first night, which I had to deal with myself. The open design means the living room, all of downstairs and both bathrooms are exposed to the jungle. We were overrun with ants, mosquitoes, lizards, spiders and other creatures. It may be a gimmick for a short visit, but I really wouldn’t want to spend one or two weeks here. Food in the cupboards and even my toothbrush were covered in ants. Rice fields are nearby, and when they’re harvested, they burn the fields constantly, so there’s smoke and a smell while that’s going on. The photos are very misleading. A villa that should be a luxury five-star resort now feels like a living hell. Please read the other negative reviews: I’m not the only guest to cut a stay short over cleanliness and hygiene. The staff were lovely to my face when I explained my concerns and said I wanted to leave, but then rejected my cancellation on booking.com. We shortened our stay by six nights, and I wish I’d never set foot there. They offered a spa treatment, but when I asked if it could be used in Uluwatu, where we were going next, they said it was only for Ubud, even though it was a national company with about 20 spa facilities across bali. They also refused to cover our transfer to the next property. Their WhatsApp messages were all nice, but it felt superficial and hollow. It’s overpriced: the usual £300 per night is scandalous, and even the £80 we paid wasn’t worth it. DO NOT STAY HERE. You have been warned.

The rice fields right outside the bedroom make the jungle setting feel special, and the modern pool villa is a lovely place to get away from city stress. The room was comfortable, with good air conditioning and a workspace, and the 5G WiFi was fast and dependable. We also enjoyed being able to get tasty food at the restaurant all day. Mr Ricky and his staff were the highlight, always welcoming us with a smile and making us feel appreciated. A great way to enjoy Bali at Jungle Villas!

I really like being surrounded by nature, so this quiet villa suited me well. The room was roomy, and I liked the aesthetic door. Everyone was friendly, especially the front desk team. Thanks to Arlinda, who was very professional. I’d recommend staying here to my family.

We ended up checking out early and moving to a nearby hotel because the room’s condition made the rest of our stay too uncomfortable. Dust and mold covered the inside of the roof and windows, and my allergy flared badly on the first night. I was still trying to manage the symptoms over the following days. The place itself would be a nice quiet escape if you didn’t run into that problem. Staff inspected the room and realized what was wrong, but the owner never sent an apology. If dust or mold triggers your allergies, I wouldn’t recommend it unless they’ve taken steps to address this. We booked based on the Google Maps reviews and rating.
