I loved this homestay and was sad to leave. The family are friendly and polite, and the delicious homemade breakfast on my veranda, looking out at the greenery and flowers, was my favorite part of each day. The garden is wonderful, and the room and bathroom were comfortable and nice. They came to clean every day, too. It's about a 30-minute walk from Ubud city center, in a more local neighborhood away from the rush. I highly recommend it, including for longer stays.

It's quiet and peaceful here, and the garden view rooms are nice. I was surprised to return from a trip and find the room had been cleaned. Other places don't bother even when you stay more than two nights. Breakfast was different each day. I've been to Ubud more than five times, but this was my first stay at Madra Homestay. I'm really glad I tried it. I like Ubud and would recommend Madra Homestay. I'll come back. Best budget option in Ubud!

We'd read the reviews before coming to Bali and thought they sounded so nice, so we booked for 15 days. But on the night we arrived, flies, insects, lizards, and caterpillars were crawling on and under the bed. The top of our room was open, so flies kept coming in and biting us. The toilet was filthy, the dirtiest I've ever seen. We didn't stay and left the next day. Breakfast was okay, and the owners were friendly.

A lovely spot for resting and relaxing, simple but full of character. The garden is beautiful, the location is very good, breakfast is great, and the people running the place are amazing. Highly recommended.

The garden was spotless and lovely, and our room was cleaned every day. We also really enjoyed the breakfast. We arrived late, but the host was kind and understanding. I found out this is one of Ubud’s earliest homestays, founded by the famous Balinese artist Ketut Madra, who shares the same name as the host. His son showed us his beautiful paintings in the gallery beside the house. Thank you for all the good vibes! 🙏🏽
