Puri Bebengan Bungalow

The gardens were so carefully tended, and everything was spotless. The juice at breaky was delicious, and the setting is peaceful while still close to the beautiful rice fields. A lovely young family manages the property and was incredibly friendly and accommodating. I loved my time there and would highly recommend it.

The room felt comfortable, with large windows letting in the sunshine and an old traditional Bali house vibe. It was spacious enough for a crowd, and the views are something else, from jungle and big palm trees to the sound of water flowing in the river below. The place is close to central Ubud, but tucked away from the busy road, so it’s relaxing. Staff were super friendly and helpful. There aren’t many amenities, though that wasn’t a big issue for the price. Puri Bebengan is great value for money.

The host was really friendly and helpful, and you can rent scooters right there. The clean pool is surrounded by coconut trees. Breakfast is included for the price, with several choices. We picked this place for its location and price, and although it’s near the center, it stays very quiet. I’d recommend it for good value.

We had an okay stay, but it didn’t feel very relaxing. The driver we arranged through the place was great, a young guy who gave us a really good day. The pool itself is nice, but things were floating on the surface and the upkeep seemed neglected. I suggested the owners use the skimmer for filtering, but they didn’t know what it was. The bungalows are run down, the fan is noisy, and the bathroom has seen better days. It’s at the end of the street and was clearly a great place once, but these days it has lost its glory.
