Sunarta House Home Stay

We had a really peaceful stay here. It’s a family-run homestay with about ten rooms, alongside the owners’ own home. Ubud Palace and the Street Market are only a 5-10 minute walk away, while the garden inside is quiet and beautifully cared for. The rooms are a good size, with a wardrobe and a spacious bathroom. Each has a little table and bench or chairs outside, where breakfast is served. Just tell them the night before what you want and when, and they bring it to your table in the morning. The young man who helped us was incredibly kind, thoughtful, and helpful. If you’re near Warung Buana Coffee, it’s just a minute away and a nice place to have coffee. The café owner’s friendly Luwak lives there too. And if you love pugs, there’s a family just across from Sunarta, a little to the right, with an adorable black pug called Mr. Popo ❤️. It was the only one we spotted in Bali. I’d highly recommend staying here if you want a calm, authentic feel and still want to be close to everything.

Once you step inside, it feels peaceful, even though this place is right in central Ubud. The room and bathroom are huge, breakfast was tasty, the service was great, and the price was really low. Just so you know, there’s no air conditioning in the room, only a fan, but it worked well.

The breakfast was delicious, and the staff were so friendly. It’s just off the main intersection, with the attractions and everything else close enough to walk to. Such a lovely homestay, I’d definitely recommend it.

Mr Gede provided excellent service, and the breakfast was yummy. The rooms are spacious, and the patio and overall atmosphere are nice. You can walk to Ubud Palace, several kecak dance performances, and a local fruit market that runs from 4-8 am. There are also plenty of convenience stores along the lane. A few things weren’t so good: it was hard to find reasonably priced places for a late dinner after 8 pm, the patio dining table wasn’t cleaned, and the rule about replacing towels only every 3 days seemed odd. The electric heater also couldn’t provide enough hot water to fill the bathtub, and sometimes there wasn’t enough even for a shower.
