Villa Solis by BaliSuperHost

The location was the best part for us. We could walk to lots of restaurants and shops, and made the 30-minute walk to the Art Market several times. The staff were polite and getting in and out was easy, but our experience with the villa's extra services was poor. I'd avoid booking extras through them. The driver they arranged didn't know where the villa was and drove in circles around Ubud for over 30 minutes until I gave him directions from my GPS. He then messaged and called me on WhatsApp for three days; I ignored him and eventually blocked him. We also hired their "personal chef." He couldn't cook well, and most of the meal seemed microwaved. It was the worst food we had on the trip, and nearly 100 USD for canned Sprite and undercooked steak felt like a lot compared with Ubud dinner prices. The pool decoration was the one service they did well, and thankfully it was the most expensive thing we paid for. They say rooms are cleaned daily unless you opt out, but staff still messaged me on WhatsApp every day asking whether and when we wanted cleaning. On arrival, staff spent 30 minutes explaining little things that were already in the villa's book or obvious by looking around. I mostly wanted the keys. The location is amazing, but those services left me unsure I'd stay at a balisuperhost villa again. I'd choose the Hilton Garden Inn by the airport, which was incredible and about eight times cheaper per night with the same amenities.
