Thomas and the Pond House turned out to be a destination in their own right. I’ll admit, pulling into the car park made me second-guess our choice, but meeting Thomas changed that straight away. He was a blast, and his stories made conversations with him a real highlight of our time in South Ireland. I was genuinely sad to leave. Before we went, he showed us his clever ritual for feeding the local crows. It was mind-blowing to see how smart they are, and kids and adults would both enjoy it. The B&B is close to Blarney Castle and other cultural sites. There’s also a level walking trail directly across the road, with historical markers from an old Mill, along a stream. It makes for a nice evening stroll, and there are a couple of Pubs and local restaurants nearby. Thomas also knows about attractions we hadn’t heard of or considered, so ask him for suggestions. Our room was a straightforward B&B room, en suite, with one double and two single beds, TV, internet, and everything else we needed. Breakfast was amazing, and Thomas is a great chef. We agreed on a time each morning and arrived late every time, but he was totally flexible. I recommend this place, and that’s saying a lot.

Our stay here on our 2013 honeymoon is still something my wife and I talk about. Tom made the place, a genuine, amazing person who made us feel at home and told great stories. We can’t wait to visit again!

The room was spacious and comfortable, and breakfast was great. They really look after you, and we’d definitely stay again when we’re in Cork. Most of all, we loved Tom. He made us feel like family, and we had the best time. Couldn’t get enough of Paddy and the cats. Oh, and go to Gary's bar. 😊

Mr. Looney is a hoot, and it was so much fun talking with him. His home makes it easy for travellers to chat with each other. Breakfast was great and the coffee awesome. Make sure you follow his tips on where to eat and what to do. He won’t steer you wrong.

This is the coolest dude in Ireland, hands down. The host is super friendly and happy either to have a good time with you or let you chill on your own. Awesome place, and his fireplace is gorgeous. I’d stay here again and again. Stay here.
