The hotel was near a shopping centre, restaurants, a cinema, and an entertainment centre, and we were happy we chose the Maldron. Our room was spacious and clean, with a fridge and complimentary water, a nice touch. We had dinner in the restaurant after arriving, and the food was great. Breakfast was amazing, with plenty of fruit, yogurts, seeds, dried fruit, and hot dishes. My son loved the freshly made pancakes with lots of icing sugar. We came down a little late but could still get everything we wanted, and the lovely staff didn’t rush us. The 11 a.m. checkout felt too early, especially for a weekend. We’d also have liked a smart TV so our son could watch Disney or Netflix.

The room was quiet, at a comfortable temperature, and had very comfortable mattresses, so we slept really well. It was spotless and beautifully prepared by housekeeping. Staff at reception and in the restaurant were professional, friendly, and helpful. The complimentary underground parking was a big plus, with a lift straight to the floors. It was extremely convenient to go from the car to our room without passing through reception. I highly recommend Maldron Hotel Sandy Road Galway and would gladly stay again.

The staff went above and beyond to make sure the kids had what they needed. We stayed two nights, and the hotel was spotless everywhere, from the room to the car park. Dinner one evening was perfect, though so piping hot we had to wait a few minutes before eating. Breakfast was great too. I’ve stayed at many Maldron hotels, and this was by far the best. The beds felt like clouds. A fantastic stay.

The room was fantastic, exceptionally clean, with a nice hot shower and a fridge, which was a great bonus. We came for a much needed night away for my Dad after a close bereavement in the family, but the reception we got on arrival was very cold, not the welcome we expected from a hotel of this standing. We ate there that evening, but the menu was poor, with very few choices. Dad had the burger and I had something that was meant to be a curry, and neither was very satisfying. Breakfast was no better: it was cold, and I had to ask for butter, sausages, and beans because none were available. The area also seemed very short staffed.

The staff were lovely and professional. Our group left before dawn on the last day, and they made us takeaway breakfast, which was very kind. The buffet breakfast was fresh and lovely. The hotel is well placed by a bus stop, local shops, and a petrol station. I’d highly recommend it.
