Skellig Ring House - Budget Accommodation

The staff were very polite and made sure everything was okay. The hostel is well placed, just a few minutes from the main street. Our ensuite room was clean and the bed was comfortable. It might not be quiet depending on which room you get, since the wooden floors mean someone arriving during the night could wake you.

The room had three beds, just as expected, and the gentleman there was friendly and helpful. We stayed one night, and with few other people around it was quiet and peaceful. The shower was nice and had plenty of room for a tall person. Wifi was pretty poor unless you were in the TV room, so be ready to hang out there if you want to use your phone. The stay went smoothly, and I'd come again.

I spent three summer months here on a work exchange. The staff were courteous and hospitable, and the rooms were comfortable and clean. The guest kitchen had two stoves, microwaves, toasters, fridges, and all the dishes and flatware. It's an easy walk to the Skellig Michael boats, the visitor center, and the craft fair at the community center on Wednesdays. There are lots of walks and hikes, historic sites, and gorgeous scenery.

Forget the warning note in the room, this is a party-animal paradise. The hostel is unattended from 7pm until checkout, and there's a big kitchen where you can store as much alcohol as you need. Free wi-fi lets you play loud music, and you can shout, run around, and carry on until morning. The walls are so thin that everyone in other rooms gets to share the party. There's a 24-hour contact number, but nobody will answer, so don't worry about the party being interrupted. Just enjoy yourself.
