Allenby 2 Bed and Breakfast

Our three kids were very happy with the bunk beds, and everything was really clean. The room shares a small community kitchen stocked with what you need, including a kettle, washing machine, fridge and freezer, and small oven. Check-in was simple, and the host was reachable by mobile. The place is close to the Old City, with a bus hub nearby and good connections. We’d recommend it and would come again.

The balcony was a nice touch, with a pretty view and some shade, and the location is excellent. I stayed one night in a clean, private room with access to a shared kitchen. Breakfast was very nice. Towels are supplied, but bring your own soap and shampoo.

The location is handy for getting around. It’s a few minutes’ walk to the Central Bus Station, where you’ll find lots of snack bars with good-value meals. Yitzhak Navon train station is just across from it, with a fast connection to Ben Gurion airport and the wider train network. You can also sit in the small garden or by the entrance, and make local calls or use the computer. Breakfast was adequate, though a few items only came out after we’d finished. Our room was spacious with high ceilings, plenty of storage and power sockets, air conditioning, window shutters, and great lighting, including good reading lights by the bed. The bathroom was fine, the shower got nice and hot, and there was a long-handled floor wiper to clear splashes. For this area, it’s good value and a step up from a hostel, but don’t expect a luxury hotel. Cleanliness was only average, with dusty, grubby corners and windowsills. Wifi kept cutting out, even near the hub and at quiet times. We were woken early by a pneumatic drill near our window, though that probably isn’t a regular thing.

The shared breakfast and meals area had a great vibe, with fellow backpackers swapping ideas. Each room has a TV, air conditioning, and several beds. A few of the air conditioners were faulty or hard to operate while I was there, but I still had a great experience. Public transport is convenient, though it took a bit of effort to find the place at first.
