Sugarland Hotel

Magnificent harbor views and a great location, all for a wonderful bargain in Douglas. The staff were exceptionally friendly, breakfast was good, and the rooms were clean and a good size. The decor is dated and the place is showing its age, but that adds a bit of charm.

I rang William at the sugarland in the IOM on Saturday to ask about vacancies for June, and he was very helpful. I've stayed here four times before and would come again. It's well placed on the prom, the rooms are clean and adequate, and breakfast is included. Parking is right outside too.

As payment is made in advance, I could check out at any time. The receptionist was very kind and gave me helpful advice on what to do in Douglas and around the island. My room was comfortable and very spacious, with lots of room for luggage, which matters when you're travelling with motorbike gear.

I've stayed here several times and will return. The owner and staff at Sugarland are very friendly and look after their guests, despite the IoM having seen better days after a sharp decline in tourists and business visitors over the past few years, which has affected many hotels. Sugarland is right on the seafront. My single ensuite room was nice and looked out to sea, breakfast was good, and the ferry terminal is only a couple of minutes away on foot. Buses and horse trams stop very close by.
