The Meadows Resort and Spa

The breakfast was the highlight, with a generous spread that was very tasty. They also gave us a cricket kit and badminton rackets, which helped keep the kids entertained somewhat. We stayed one night with elders and three children aged 4-7, and there weren’t many options for the kids, including no children’s park. The resort’s lush greenery may suit couples or a group of friends better. Our rooms weren’t ready, and even after several calls it took three hours to get basics like toiletries and water bottles. The TVs in both rooms didn’t work.

The property is really lovely, but it needs more maintenance. Our room didn’t match what we expected, and the bathroom was broken and unlike the one shown in the pictures. The mattress wasn’t very good either. The swimming pool also needs to be cleaned on time.

The first room had an AC that didn’t work and no ceiling fan, so it was unbearable. After we complained repeatedly, they moved us to another room that was just as poor, though at least it had a standing fan. There are no ceiling fans in any rooms. For a property advertised online as a resort and spa, it was nothing like the pictures, and felt poorly maintained, unhygienic, understaffed, and overpriced. We found peeling paint, broken handles, loose faucets, damaged furniture, and dirty surroundings. Ants were in the bathroom, on the bathtub and commode, and old tea stains from previous guests were still on the tables. The bed advertised as a king was two flimsy single beds pushed together, which kept separating all night and was very uncomfortable. Service was badly understaffed: one person was handling breakfast orders, serving food, looking after guests, and running around. Breakfast was a choice of just three dishes, with no buffet or variety, and the food was tasteless; even the curd was sour. There also seemed to be only one person at reception, who was cleaning rooms and changing sheets. This was one of our worst stays, a complete waste of money and time. Do yourself a favor and don’t book this place.

It took nearly six calls to get basic necessities, and the staff were rude. The food was poor and expensive for its quality. The pool was dirty, with impurities that wouldn’t dissolve, and the high amount of chlorine hurt my child’s skin. The washrooms smelled worse than a public toilet. Overall, a bad experience.
