Hotel The Blue Ivy by OYO

The food quality and service were very good, the staff were nice, and the environment was very nice.

The Wi-Fi was horrible and didn’t work at all, and they didn’t provide the breakfast that was included with my booking. The service and people were awful too. When I went to reception to ask the price of extending my stay by a day or two, they quoted me too much, so I booked online at a lower rate. That turned into chaos. They then said they didn’t accept online bookings, even though I’d made my original two-night booking online too. I’d booked a double room but they moved me to a single. I was running late for the office so didn’t argue, and left that evening after returning from work. They said they’d asked OYO to stop listing the hotel a long time ago, but OYO wasn’t listening. I really don’t understand how or why.

The staff charged extra for the room and gave no valid explanation. The open bottle served in the room also raised concerns for me about guest safety and well-being. With the overcharging and questionable practices, I can’t recommend this place. Cleanliness was already a problem as soon as I entered. The bedsheet was crawling with cockroaches, the room hygiene was poor, and the bathroom had visible stains and seemed badly maintained. The toilet was in an appalling state and made the stay very uncomfortable. It was a regrettable, unpleasant experience. Management needs to address these issues urgently.

The staff were good to talk to, the location is fine on the main road, and the WiFi worked well. But I stayed two nights in a dirty room with a constant bad smell. The bathroom seemed like it had been shut up for months. They refused to move me, saying every room was full. When I asked for cleaning, they just put the sheet back in place and sprayed air freshener, and only sprayed it when I asked. The TV in the room didn't work.
