The Rope By OYO Rooms

My stay was amazing, thanks for the great hospitality. The resort has a proper parking area with shutters, so I felt safe leaving my bike. It's also right next to the shared taxi stand, making it easy to get around town. Thank you, rope resort.

The meals and service were really good. We had dinner and breakfast there, both were delicious and arrived on time. When our child wanted a soft drink they didn't have, a staff member walked to a nearby store and brought one back in about five minutes. Our room was clean and well maintained, though it felt a bit cramped once the extra cot was in. The place is only 3kms from Tiger Hill, but quite far from Darjeeling city, so Santa Banta Dhaba might be a better area if you want to be nearer the center. The access road is very narrow, and you should tell them ahead of time if you need parking because space is limited. We'd heard you could see Mt.Kanchenjunga from the Balcony, but thick fog covered everything during our whole visit.

The building is old and doesn't seem properly maintained. The rooms are okay, but water management was poor and there was no hot water. There was only rice and Roti to choose from for food each day. Being near Tiger hills was convenient, though I'd rather stay somewhere better, even if it's a little farther away.

The room view is what made the stay worthwhile, and the bathroom was clean with a geyser. Staff were very polite. Getting there on foot can be a struggle if you're not used to the steep road. It's on the way to Tiger Hill, and it gets very lonely after 8PM. Food is available from the resort restaurant, though it seemed a little expensive and the taste didn't quite match. It's one of the coldest spots in Darjeeling district, with very limited food available outside after 8PM. I'd avoid walking around alone late at night or early in the morning, since you might see wild animals like leopard. The experience was good enough overall.
