Hotel Grand Sm Regency

The building itself looks good, but I wouldn't book this place. My Oyo reservation was ₹2500 per night, and the photos didn't prepare me for the condition of the room. I checked in at 4pm to find dust everywhere and a foul smell in the bathroom. It was hard to stand in the room for even a minute, and there wasn't even a tea bag. Service was painfully slow. I had to call three times to get anything done, and property manager Mr. TYAGI was rude and seemed ready to argue with customers. He blamed the dust and smell on a dust storm the day before and said he couldn't do anything. The bathroom looked like the photos but wasn't clean, with dust and a bad smell. The hot water did work. Breakfast was only poori subzi and poha, both just okay and neither served hot. There was no view from the windows, and getting to Mall Road, the main attraction, means climbing about a kilometer, which is tough. The hotel is on the Dehradun-Mussoorie highway, quite far from Mall Road. I also had a bad experience with Oyo. Once you've paid, it feels like they forget about you and only care about the money. A big no.

The balcony at the restaurant has a mind-blowing view, especially in the serene morning. Have your camera ready for Instagram-worthy pictures. The rooms are clean, though when we first checked into room 410, its toilet smelled bad. Breakfast is very limited, with just two options.

I visited on a Sunday in November, and the rooms were clean and spacious. The back sitting area has a nice view and glass installed for safety. Staff and facilities were good, and the restaurant served delicious food. Pricing is reasonable, around 1500/- per room.

I stayed for three days. The hotel has good infrastructure and views, though the food was only average and I was a little disappointed with the service. Main market, Mall Road, and Gandhi chouk are nearby. If you want to rent a bike, car, or scooty, don't use a mediator. Ask for the owner or meet them directly before going ahead with the paperwork.
