We were a family of eight and had planned to stay five nights, but the hotel made it so difficult that we left after the fourth night and booked somewhere else for one night just to get some peace. It completely spoiled our family time. For a five-star hotel, the service was very poor. The staff were rude, snobbish, and didn't know how to behave. I wouldn't recommend it at all. If negative ratings were possible, I'd give one.

We spent half an hour trying to locate the place, and the phone number wasn't working. It turned out to be a tiny, seedy spot at the back of an alley, nothing like the pictures. We went in without mentioning the booking to see a room, but the host wouldn't show us one. Once we said we had a reservation, he said the hotel name and address were right but they didn't accept online bookings. I had to call the reservation company and deal with cancelling it. This isn't the Shangri-La five-star hotel you might expect, or even a decent budget hotel. It feels like a scam. They seem to draw travelers in with the name of a big hotel and its photos, but when you get to the address, you find you've been ripped off. The price online was very affordable.

I liked the hotel's look and feel, and security seemed good. I also think they employ people with disabilities. It's in central Delhi, though Google Maps sometimes places the Shangri-La in Patpargunj. They should fix that.

We booked through the goibigo app for 246 INR. The room had a TV, mirror, washroom, and a charging point within reach of the bed. Wi-Fi was free and gave us over 5 Mbps. It's 1 km from Rk asram marg blue line metro station. Good for a stay.
