Hotel Bella Casa

About 100 miter from Bazra stand. Excellent service, and the room category is well decorated.

We were on the main road, and the hotel manager and staff were humble and helpful. Breakfast and dinner came with our package, and the food was tasty. My room was a good size and clean, but three friends shared another room that was cramped for them. They had a mattress on the cold floor, and the bathroom flush wasn't working properly. Its instant heater took about 20-25 minutes to warm the water after each use. A boiler in the bathroom would help.

Our rooms were changed for the last 2 days, and they seemed to be deluxe, but the towels and sheets were still old, stained and soiled. During our 4-night stay, the menu never varied. Breakfast was oily pooris and sabji, or tasteless poha and bread with very little butter. Dinner was Aloo chicken, Paneer Masala and dal rice every day. They wouldn't give us coffee with breakfast from day 2, saying the food manager wouldn't let them serve that much. We paid for deluxe rooms but got standard ones that smelled filthy, with used sheets, stained towels and stinking bathrooms. At the Gangtok hotel, staff bluntly refused to help with luggage because “duty 10 baje khatam ho gayi.” As the only young person in our group, I had to haul luggage for 9 people down two floors at midnight. There was a dirty, used towel hanging in my room's shower and no toilet rolls. We had to carry bottles to our rooms every day. They didn't supply water in the room kettles, and those kettles didn't work anyway. The restaurant water they let us carry back wasn't RO purified. There was also a big tobacoo spit dustbin right in the dining area.

Some rooms have a lovely view, and the location is handy. Vajra Mall is nearby, with outlets like KFC, Trends and Reliance Digital. Still, service and upkeep took away from the stay. Housekeeping wasn't available after 3 PM, and even after asking several times, we had to argue before anyone came to clean our room. Some rooms also had a strong, unpleasant smell from a nearby gutter or garbage. More reliable service and maintenance would improve the place.
