I spent two days at MJ Sarovar Portico in a room described as a suite, and left regretting the choice. The price felt far out of line with what I got, and the stay wasn’t worth the money. The room was average at best, with dated, uninspiring furnishings and upkeep. It didn’t offer the comfort or quality I’d expect for the tariff. The food was another letdown: poorly prepared meals, limited choice, and prices that weren’t justified. Dining was something I’d looked forward to, but it became one of the most disappointing parts of the visit. Several staff members came across as discourteous and unhelpful, making simple requests uncomfortable. Courtesy and professionalism should be part of hospitality, but I didn’t experience them during my stay. In my view, the property doesn’t meet even the standards of a modest two-star establishment. I hope management takes the feedback seriously and makes meaningful improvements. The place has potential, but it currently falls well short of expectations.

It was quiet and relaxing, and I loved staying here. The room was large, new, and very clean, the food was great, and everything else was in good shape and worked well. The people working there were kind and helpful from the start. I’d definitely stay again.

At reception, a guest once asked, “Do you have a swimming pool in the hotel?” The receptionist smiled and replied, “No, ma’am, we don’t have a swimming pool—we have the Ganga River for that!” Everyone laughed, and it captured the staff’s warm, welcoming spirit. My room was cozy, spotless, and well appointed, a peaceful place to return to after a busy day. Comfortable rooms, attentive service, and a welcoming atmosphere made this one of my most enjoyable travel experiences in recent years. The combination felt luxurious and homely. I’d gladly return and recommend it, especially to anyone who appreciates good food, genuine hospitality, and a memorable stay.

MJ Sarover Portico is in a great spot for visiting Har ki Paudi or travelling to Parmarth Niketan Ashram in Rishikesh for a spiritual experience. The property felt relaxed, enjoyable, and well managed, and I highly recommend it for a pleasant, luxurious stay in the holy city. From arrival, the welcome was warm and hospitable. The attentive staff made sure needs were met with a smile. Our room was spacious, luxurious, and well maintained, with thoughtful details including quality coffee and tea arrangements. The large washroom was clean and everything worked properly. The restaurant was another highlight, with delicious choices from breakfast to dinner and outstanding food quality alongside top-notch service. We were thrilled with our stay at MJ Sarover Portico in haridwar. It’s a true gem for comfort and high-end service.
