The Havelock Hotel, Vijay Nagar

The rooms were awful and there was no water in the washroom. When I complained about the bad service, the receptionist argued with me, then put the landline receiver aside so nobody could call reception. They took the full advance payment, apparently knowing how poor their service was. Worst hotel.

There was no hot water, and hygiene was very poor. Basic cleaning and maintenance standards weren't being met. The hotel looked completely different from the online photos, which felt misleading. This was one of my worst stays, and it seems guests booking through Brevistay may be given substandard rooms, which feels unfair and unprofessional. I wouldn’t recommend this hotel for Brevistay bookings unless it makes major improvements.

The manager and the owners Randeep singh made an awful stay even worse. He threatened to call the police, and the owner said we had to check out at midnight. Neither the owner, manager, nor staff seemed to know how to speak to a female customer. When we raised complaints, they argued, acted rudely, and got defensive instead of trying to fix anything. The rooms had dirty mattresses and no clean bedsheets. They showed no regard for feedback or basic hospitality. This was the worst hotel experience of my life. Avoid it.

The staff were polite and the room was clean, and getting around the city and traveling to Ujjain was easy from the hotel’s good location. I stayed two nights and tried the American buffet breakfast. It was okay, though it could be better. Overall, a very good stay.
