Kankariya Heritage

The rooftop restaurant was very overpriced, and the food wasn't worth it. The taste was below average, and there are much better dinner options elsewhere in the city. The property itself is good, with spacious, clean, well-kept rooms. But it's far inside the old city, where tourist taxis can't get in easily, so you have to use auto rickshaws. That's a major drawback.

The food let the stay down. Its taste and variety didn't meet expectations, and breakfast in particular wasn't worth mentioning. There's definite room to improve the meals. The rest of the property has a lovely heritage feel that reflects the city, with well-maintained rooms and a peaceful, elegant atmosphere. Staff were polite and welcoming, and the lift is a rare convenience in the old city. The highlight was our fort and lake view superior room with jharokha. From this tallest building in the neighbourhood, the views of Mehrangarh Fort, Umaid Bhawan, Jaswant Thada, and Jodhpur were stunning in both morning and evening. Kankariya Heritage is a lovely place to stay for the atmosphere and views, and better food would make it even more enjoyable.

Room 401 on the 3rd floor seemed to be the best room in the hotel, and we were lucky to book it for our family's four-night stay. The service was exceptional, and we enjoyed the two tours the hotel arranged for us. Breakfast was a treat too: kachori and mirchi bada at the restaurant, with a beautiful view of the fort. Thank you for looking after us so well!

We chose the hotel for its Mehrangarh Fort views and the striking outlook from the restaurant. The location is convenient, near the clock tower and right beside Gulab Sagar Lake, and the rooms are large. However, restaurant service and food choices were limited, with only basic dishes available. The hotel also seemed short-staffed: the person at reception was serving in the restaurant too. Given the price point, I might not choose it again.
