The service was way beyond what we expected, and that means everything to us. We’re a family of five and spent three nights here. The room felt new, with plenty of space, and it was really clean. Even the blankets had duvets, something you hardly ever find in budget places.

The rooms and washrooms were neat and clean, and the beds were clean too. There’s hot water, and the homestay is handy for getting to nearby tourist spots. We didn’t eat there, so do check whether they offer food.

My stay at Hornbill Homestay was disappointing. The WiFi and TV, both basic amenities, weren’t working. I told the staff, but nothing was done, and they still asked for the full payment at checkout. It wasn’t worth the price.

The owner was kind and helpful, even when we messed up a few things. He stayed polite throughout. We had a really pleasant stay, and it’s one of the best places to stay in thekkady.

It’s a little tucked away, though the tourist spots are close by. Management can arrange transport, with the cost paid by the customer. There’s parking, and they’re kind and helpful with other arrangements too. Mobile reception can be patchy, but WiFi is provided. The building has three floors, with four rooms on each floor, plus a big hall and dining table. Definitely worth staying!
