Goroomgo Laxmi Towers Madurai

It's a family friendly lodge with different room options, including double cot, triple cot, and single cot rooms. It could suit a function with friends or family. The location is a bit away from the main road, so the ambience is nice, and it's near Koodalagar temple on south Mada Street, as well as Periyar bus stand and the railway station. Parking has to be along the roads. The rooms had a bad odour when we entered, so we used our own sprays. They should check and clean rooms properly before assigning them. Hot water comes only in the morning, the TV was there but didn't work, and there's no Wi-Fi.

The balcony was the one decent spot, a nice place to relax. The room itself was a letdown: the bathroom felt unsafe, there was a very bad smell, and the room wasn't nice at all. I expected better and had a terrible stay.

The rooms smelled bad, and the service was awful. They only provide blankets to guests staying in AC rooms. The manager was the worst part.

The bedsheets and pillow covers were dirty, and the toilet wasn't clean either. In the first room, I opened the door to find a rat running under the bed and lots of small cockroaches. I asked to move, but the next room had several small cockroaches too. They gave me a third room, and it was the same story. Even the lift felt outdated, with a door that didn't open automatically. A truly awful experience.
