The hotel is close to Thiruparankundram Murugan temple and the airport, but far from everything else. There aren't any food places, restaurants, or even tea stalls nearby. They don't have bottled water, just an RO plant whose quality I didn't trust, and you have to bring your own bottle even for that. It makes more sense to stay in Madurai than pay for the commute back and forth for every meal.
The repeated power cuts interrupted our photoshoot and kept disrupting guests as they were on stage giving gifts. The event became uncomfortable and embarrassing, and the management was poor. We'd been promised an AC hall at Vani Vikas, but the power went off around 20-25 times, so the AC was useless. For the amount they charged, they should at least have proper backup and basic arrangements. A really frustrating experience.
The atmosphere was calm and neat, and we had a good stay. Just be aware there isn't a lift, so you'll need to use the stairs.

I booked for a nearby tournament, but despite the booking confirmation they didn't have rooms ready for the consecutive days we'd requested. The sheets were dirty, and one bathroom had no water. In the room I stayed in, you had to leave the lights on overnight to charge a device, otherwise it wouldn't charge. It wasn't worth the price, so we chose to stay somewhere else.
