Gezellig Inn - Golden Apple

The food and service were awful, and the tea even had a bee in it. We had to buy drinking water outside because none was available at the property. The place is severely overpriced for the poor service and upkeep, and I regret booking it. I’d strongly advise others to avoid it. There was no hospitality, cleanliness, safety, professionalism, or basic care for guests. We reached almost three hours after the official check-in time, but still waited another 30 minutes because the rooms weren’t ready. There was no electricity for nearly 2-3 hours after we checked in, with no proper backup, apology, or concern from staff. We ordered grilled sandwiches and waited around 40 minutes, only to hear after asking repeatedly that they couldn’t make them without power. Communication was pathetic. The room was unhygienic: spiders and cobwebs, torn blankets and bedsheets, damaged curtain holders, stained pillows, and a generally dirty feel. There was no toilet paper, handwash, or hand towels. Despite asking repeatedly for room slippers, hand towels, and a dental kit, we never got them. There was no room phone to call reception, so I had to walk there to ask for basic supplies. The lights across the property had been switched off, and I found my way with my phone torch. We later realized the property had been locked from the outside. I asked a family member to call reception from their room phone, but nobody answered. The staff were rude, careless, dismissive, and uninterested in helping. The whole stay was a nightmare from start to finish and honestly ruined our trip.
