Hotel Grand Residency by Oyo Rooms

This might suit college students, but I wouldn't recommend it for families. The AC isn't good, and the room service is poor. Don't order food. If you do stay, call the hotel directly instead of booking online, inspect the rooms in person first, and choose a non-AC room.

We paid over Rs. 2.5K for a room that wasn't worth Rs. 1K and didn't match the website pictures. The outside of the building looked shabby, and the hotel entrance was through a garage. Cockroaches were on the bed, bathroom, and floor. The attached washroom had no ventilation. The TV display was poor, its remote was broken, and the AC remote didn't work either.

It was a filthy, unpleasant place with rude staff, loud TVs every night, and staff gossiping loudly in their language at all hours. They showed no respect for women. There's no lift, the location is awful, and the trains are right next door, with four or five passing every minute. I couldn't sleep at all. After checkout, we had a 1am flight and asked them to hold our bags while we went sightseeing for a few hours. The manager wanted Rs500. When I said we'd just pick up our bags after two hours, he said we still had to pay because he'd let us check out at 11am instead of 10am. The place is out of the way for Uber too, so rides cost more because drivers have trouble navigating the road. Avoid it.

We had two families in rooms 107 and 110. There was decent space, and the toilet and bathroom were fine, but there was no bathroom ventilation or fire exit. Small cockroaches came from the bathroom at night. Staff sprayed HIT, but they kept coming back. The beds were too stiff and the pillows too high for a good night's sleep. Staff also asked for Rs20 as a tip every time we requested anything. They first quoted 21,000 for three nights, then dropped it to 13,000 after we said we'd found similar rooms at another hotel for that price. I'm not sure whether we ended up paying too much or too little.
