It's only about five minutes from Cotton Green Station. The staff were also very good and professional.
The rooms are good, and the uncle at the counter was a nice person even at midnight. But being so close to the railway station makes the area noisy. There was dust all under the bed, and the street was nearly empty at night with hardly anyone around the hotel. I wouldn't recommend it for families.
Don't count on finding tea or breakfast here, or anywhere nearby. The hotel is right beside Cotton green station on the harbor line, and it's very old and poorly maintained. The rooms were dirty and old, and it seemed like pest control hadn't been done in ages. Also, the reception guy took my phone to check the OYO booking number, then gave himself a five-star rating. I was dumbstruck. I'd never seen such shameless behavior before. Don't trust the OYO App ratings.
We paid in full through a booking app for an AC room three weeks ahead, but when we arrived on the booked date, the receptionist was unwelcoming and denied our booking. They told us to find another hotel. Eventually they offered a non-AC room that was filthy and awful. There were no facilities or cleanliness, and they also refused the complimentary food they had promised. We just wanted to leave as soon as possible. Don't get cheated by them.
The hotel itself was convenient for getting around Colaba and the Gateway of India. Reception and staff were polite, my car had parking, and the driver was given a washroom to use overnight. The geyser, AC, fan and other equipment all worked, and they promptly brought an extra bed for our third person. We couldn't choose a room that suited three people, though, and there was no restaurant. The intercom didn't work, but I managed with the receptionist's mobile number. We were on the first floor, very close to the local train station, so sleeping was difficult. Train announcements, even the platform number, came through clearly in the room. It's okay for an overnight stay if you'll be out in the city most of the day and have dinner elsewhere. I'd suggest it for a family only if most of your time is spent outside. I booked through OYO and had trouble with them too. The hotel's number on the app went unanswered, and I wanted to let them know I'd arrive late. When I called OYO's call centre, they pressured me to book the same hotel again at a higher price, 5500, claiming my original 3900 payment hadn't gone through when it had. I said I'd check with the hotel and told them not to cancel my booking from their end.
