Ontime Residency Apartment and Hotel

We spent 12 nights here after flying in from Nairobi, Kenya, where there are some pretty swanky hotels and home-stays. The location is central to major shopping and entertainment venues, and the staff were courteous and helpful throughout. Our room, bed, mattress, and sheets were clean, and the modern bathroom was hygienic with a superb shower. The air-conditioning worked well, and we were impressed by the quality and quantity of the traditional Indian breakfast. A couple of things could be better: the wardrobe needs more shelves, since we had to live out of our suitcases, and the shower cubicle needs a glass door or a longer glass divider because water spills into the rest of the bathroom. It was a pleasant stay, and I’d recommend the establishment.

The location is good, and the rooms are decent, but there’s room to improve the bathroom, which has no shower curtain. The compact hotel shares its building with a gym on the first floor. It’s an average Mumbai hotel, and being next to a sewer means unpleasant smells greet you outside when you arrive.

We stayed at OnTime Residency for 3.5 weeks in January with a group of 12, as part of a university study abroad course. It suited us well: the neighbourhood felt typical rather than touristy, and we liked being close to Versova beach. Elixir Gym is in the building, and the students got good rates on monthly passes. The staff were friendly, professional, and accommodating. Rooms had AC and warm shower water, and breakfast had a decent selection. Staff would also make omelets and toast when we asked. WiFi was mostly strong, though there were some dead zones where it could be hard to connect. We had a good experience, and I’d recommend it for travelers who want a comfortable stay in a typical neighbourhood.

The location is excellent, near Kokilaben hospital and right on the main road, with plenty of good food options beyond the hotel restaurant.
