Getting there takes some care, as the roads are narrow and put your driving skills to the test. We didn’t explore many of the facilities, though they seemed good for families with young children. The property itself is beautiful and well maintained, with a superb atmosphere. Rooms are big, comfortable, bright, and spacious, and staff are polite and service minded. Food was average, nothing special, and meal times are strict. All in all, we had a good experience and would recommend it.

The road to the resort is awful and badly needs resurfacing. My room smelled strongly of stale sweat and stagnant water when I arrived. I reported it and was told housekeeping would spray air freshener “immediately.” After 30 minutes and another call, they said “2-3 minutes.” I explained the odor was making me feel unwell, but the female receptionist was extremely rude, said “sorry sir,” and hung up. When they finally sprayed the room 10 minutes later, it didn’t cover the smell. Hygiene was poor too: no hand towels, and the conditioner and moisturizer bottles had been half-used by a previous guest. Nobody proactively cleaned the room. Instead, I got a call asking if I “wanted” it cleaned. The bright spot was the food at Elephant Passage, both breakfast and the a la carte menu were excellent, and the restaurant staff were much friendlier than the front desk team. I won’t stay here again.

This was my first visit to Munnar, and the hotel’s position at the highest point on the hill made a big impression. The climb up to reception is incredibly steep and scary, and only expert drivers should attempt it. The reception itself was very good. The hotel’s mix of modern, cottage, and vintage styles was an amazing experience. We booked a cottage-style room with a balcony, a separate villa with a big bedroom and attached washroom. It has 5-star facilities, including a swimming pool, and the food was tasty. The view from the hotel, especially by the pools, was amazing. A stay worth trying once.

The pool was amazing. It was on the cold side, but lightly heated, and I found it refreshing. Staff were courteous and polite, and service was good in general. The grounds were full of flowers, plants, and trees, and I enjoyed that more than the high mountain views at some other properties. It comes down to preference, but this place is more about forest, hills, and fauna. Breakfast was mediocre, while the A La carte meals and dinner buffet were very good. For the price, which is relatively affordable for a 5 star hotel in the area, I thought it was really amazing. The vibe is cozy rather than luxurious, and the property could use some maintenance. I left feeling super relaxed, so I’d still recommend it.

We enjoyed watching both sunrise and sunset from the balconies, with beautiful views all around. The lush greenery gave the resort a calm, refreshing atmosphere, and the clean, relaxing pool was a nice place to spend time. It was a great setting for photography, and we captured lots of lovely moments. Our family had a wonderful stay at Elephant Passage Resort, Munnar. The rooms were comfortable and well maintained, service was smooth and attentive, and the staff were courteous, helpful, and genuinely hospitable.
