I can’t comment on the rooms since I haven’t stayed here. I’ve had dinner at the restaurant several times while visiting Mysore, though. It’s one of the very few places serving South Indian food at dinner, and both the food quality and taste are good. The restaurant service is good too.

As of Jan 2026, the sanitation is poor and there’s been no development. I wouldn’t eat here. There seems to be no workforce, and bathrooms are either leaking or broken. The bathtubs are poorly maintained, and most rooms have broken ones. You might develop skin issues.

The rooms were okay, and at 1500 a day the price was acceptable for the location in a posh area. Food costs a lot, is only available in the restaurant, and there’s no room service. The booking sites say rooms have A.C, but the A.C room wasn’t provided. Bathrooms were dirty, with miss and fungus. It seems to have once been a 3-star-or-so hotel, with a great building, but it needs modernization and maintenance, and the staff are old. It could have been a great 5-star hotel if it were maintained well. Still, I’m not complaining too much, since a cheap hotel with acceptable amenities in the heart of Mysore is welcome.

The veg cutlets and puri masala are still spot on, and the bakery by the road continues to have the best condiments and savories nearby. The in-house restaurant’s thalis and other dishes are a letdown, though. Hotel Paradise has lost the shine and pomp that once made it one of Mysore’s best hotels and restaurants. It needs fresh paint and a makeover. I hope the management takes heed. It would be a shame to see one of Mysore’s finest dining places sink into oblivion.

We left right away and moved to another hotel. The place felt unsettling and unwelcoming, and the photos online are drastically different from the reality. We had booked a room for three, my cousins and me, through an online platform for the long Independence Day weekend. The hotel, Hotel Paradise by Dasaprakash Group in Mysuru, seems stuck in the 1980s. The grand concrete facade looked neglected and outdated, the premises were poorly kept with overgrown vegetation, and there was no staff in sight. Only one manager/caretaker was at the huge reception. He seemed disconnected and uninterested, like he was living and breathing in a bygone era. Our room was a nightmare, with an old “boxy” Onida TV, dim outdated lights, and a practically unusable bathroom with broken taps and a non-functional flush. The caretaker said he would give us buckets of water for bathing. The long, empty hallways felt like a horror movie set, and room service didn’t exist. I wish I could rate this hotel -5 out of 5.
