Hotel Lakeview Ooty

The breakfast was very good, both in quality and quantity, and the professional, helpful staff spoke Hindi and English well for travelers from out of state or country. The room had two sections, a bit like a studio apartment. There's a good valley view, but don't assume that every room in a hotel described as lake view actually faces the lake. Check with reception if you want a river-facing room.

The South Indian dishes at breakfast were delicious and tasted authentic. Dinner, though, was a bit disappointing and didn't meet our expectations. We had a wonderful three-night stay at the villa, with marvelous views that made the mornings special. My child loved the on-site children's park, which kept them entertained. We're planning to come back, and I'd recommend it to families looking for a relaxing getaway.

The fireplace made for a special, cozy evening with the family, listening to the wood crackle. We also loved the food. It really satisfies the soul as well as the stomach. The hospitality was the best part of our two-night stay at Hotel Lake View, with such jolly, helpful staff. I'd suggest improving the bathrooms and mattresses, but otherwise this was a fantastic stay in Ooty and worth the money.

The setting is lovely, with beautiful cottages, a fantastic location, and an amazing view. Our spacious room had hot water all the time, and the staff were polite. The food was good, and Mr. William and the restaurant team looked after us very well. Some things need attention: the lawn beside the cottages, bedsheets, and chairs all need maintenance. There were quite a few spiders in the bathroom, and the desserts weren't up to expectations. We booked at the last minute and had to change rooms midway. The villa on the first night had a fireplace, which made for a cozy bonfire experience, but the next day's room had none, which was disappointing. It was a good stay overall, and I'd recommend it, 4 out of 5.
