Badar Resorts and Spa

Our travel agency let us down, but the hotel made the last day of our trip a great one. The location, staff, and service were excellent, and we’re glad we chose this lovely resort. Their hospitality made the experience memorable. Highly recommended!

Service at Badr Resorts could be slow, and for many room requests we had to call two or three times before anyone responded. Still, the staff were polite and cooperative. The setting in Gagangir, about 12 km before Sonamarg, is peaceful and scenic in summer, though it can feel very isolated in winter. The building seems to have been designed with good facilities, including central heating, cooling, and hot water, but those systems no longer work. Hot water now comes from individual geysers, with too little capacity for even one proper bath. Portable radiators are provided instead of central heating, but they’re not enough when temperatures reach -20°C or lower. The rooms and furniture look worn, with peeling paint, and the property needs thorough repairs and refurbishment. Given the current facilities and service, I’d rate it 3 stars. With proper upkeep and the original systems restored, it could offer much more.

The river nearby and those lovely views when we woke up made the location one of the best parts of our stay at Badar Resort. We were there with family last night, and everything exceeded what we expected. The rooms were clean and cozy, the food was excellent, and service stayed top-notch. Staff were warm and welcoming, and the whole place felt peaceful and comfortable. A five-star stay for food, rooms, service, and hospitality. We’d gladly return.

The setting is wonderful, and the rooms are spacious. Staff were very humble during my recent stay at Badar Resort and Spa. In -16° weather, though, they only had a small heater for the room. Helpful staff brought extra blankets, but management needs to pay more attention to room and bathroom heating.
