The Vegabound Inn

We arrived late, traveling on the Shatabdi Express at 10.30 p.m., and the hotel manager called ahead to ask whether we'd like dinner when we got in. The staff were courteous, the rooms were superb, and the food was good. Our room and bathroom were well maintained, and the stay felt worth the price. The hotel is on the 6th floor of Orbit Mall, which is being renovated, so the approach looks a bit shabby. Still, it was a stay worth remembering, and we'd like to return.

Breakfast is complimentary, and the room had a refrigerator, an electronic-lock safe, and a working AC. The toilet and room were clean, the view was great, and there is ample parking with a ticket issued for it. The ambience is great, and the hotel personnel were warm, friendly, and helpful. Be aware that the food is extremely costly: a regular roti is Rs 25 and a normal cup of tea is Rs 70. The location shown on Google Maps is absolutely wrong. The hotel is actually on the top floor of Vega Circle Mall near Bhakti Nagar Police Station. I'm trying to get the map corrected, but Google is reviewing my suggestion.

We checked in at 10:30 PM on March 21. The room was good and quite spacious, but breakfast was horrible. I placed an order at 8:20 AM and was promised it within 30 mins. By 9.20AM there'd been no response, so I left without breakfast because I had a meeting. I had to sit through meetings until afternoon on an empty stomach. The rooms are spacious, and the staff are courteous. Breakfast is complimentary and has a good spread. It's conveniently located at the top of a shopping mall in siliguri, and the cozy atmosphere across the mall makes the stay nicer. The lighting could be better, though, since most rooms are very dim.
